OFT to consult over pub contracts

THE Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has agreed to more consultation on a complaint by the Campaign For Real Ale (Camra) over contracts imposed by pub companies on landlords.

Last month, the OFT rejected a "super complaint" by Camra which claimed the contracts restricted competition and cut consumer choice. The OFT said it stood by its findings but more consultation might prevent costly litigation.
