Office deal provides boost for Glasgow property market

AN accountancy body is to move its operations in Glasgow, providing the city with one of its biggest property deals in years.

ACCA will relocate from its current office at Central Quay in late 2016.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is to lease new offices at BAM Properties’ development at 110 Queen Street. It will occupy the entire first, second and third floors of the building, a total of 55,750 square feet of space.

ACCA is due to relocate from its current base at Central Quay in late 2016.

The global accountancy body will join a number of existing occupiers at the Queen Street development, including accounting firms Deloitte and Grant Thornton.

Designer brand Armani was the first retail tenant on board, opening a flagship store earlier this year fronting onto Ingram Street.

Mark Broderick, development director Scotland at BAM Properties, which developed the building, said, “ACCA was keen to secure prime office space in the heart of the city centre. The ACCA transaction completes the letting of all 144,000 sq ft of office space in the building.”

Jan Lloyd, head of global business support, ACCA, added: “This is a significant relocation for ACCA and will enable us to maximise the operational efficiency of the large open-plan floorplates and will enhance the working environment for our people – encouraging further interaction, collaboration and flexibility.”
