No accident as turnover surges

ACCIDENT Claims Scotland yesterday reported a 46 per cent rise in turnover to £1 million, with pre-tax profits up 72 per cent to £650,000.

Managing director Martin Haggarty said: "Before the downturn, only one in three members of public who suffered injuries through no fault of their own came forward to claim compensation, but we've seen this increase over the past year to more like one in two."

He said the accident management firm had grown its revenues "despite turning away over 80 per cent of insurance claims".
