New-look Glasgow Rolex boutique with marble entrance ‘reflects confidence in the city’
“Having grown up in the city, it makes this investment particularly meaningful” – Brian Duffy, CEO
Watches of Switzerland Group has reopened its Rolex boutique in the centre of Glasgow following a year-long refurbishment and expansion.
Brian Duffy, the group’s Scots-born chief executive, who grew up in the city, said the milestone reflected the firm’s “confidence in the city and the enduring strength of our partnership with Rolex”.
The group’s partnership with the luxury Swiss watch brand began more than a century ago in 1919 with the Northern Goldsmiths showroom in Newcastle.

The Glasgow boutique, located on the city’s Buchanan Street, originally opened in July 2020 and has been transformed following its year-long closure. The redesigned setting will showcase a broad collection of Rolex timepieces in a space “conceived around expertise, hospitality and personal service”.
The boutique spans more than 6,600 square feet across two floors, doubling the footprint of the original space. The welcome area is finished in marble and features several chandeliers inspired by the iconic Cyclops lens used to magnify the date display on Rolex watches.
The after-sales offering includes on-site Rolex-trained watchmakers and a viewing window into the workshop.
Duffy said: “We are incredibly proud to unveil the newly expanded Rolex boutique in Glasgow. Having grown up in the city, it makes this investment particularly meaningful, and it is a privilege to contribute to Glasgow’s continued growth and vibrancy.
“This milestone reflects not only our confidence in the city and the enduring strength of our partnership with Rolex, but also our commitment to creating an exceptional experience for our clients. The boutique has been thoughtfully designed around the personal nature of the Rolex journey.”
