New association sets housing target

A HOUSING association with revenues of more than £15 million a year was formed in Tayside yesterday with plans to invest up to £4m in new and existing properties.

Caledonia Housing Association – which brings together Dundee-based Servite Housing Association and Perthshire Housing Association – has more than 200 staff and manages around 4,000 properties.

The association plans to build a further 100 properties over the next 12 months.

Ian McMillan, chairman of the new association, said: “The creation of Caledonia is the culmination of more than 18 months of discussion and consultation with a range of agencies and, most importantly, our tenants.

“Further benefits will be realised through our financial strength, which will allow us to continue to build affordable homes in the region.”
