Morisons snaps up Macrae Flett & Rennie

SCOTS law firm Morisons has swallowed smaller rival Macrae Flett & Rennie as consolidation in the legal sector north of the Border gains pace.

Macrae Flett & Rennie’s five-strong team, headed by David Court, has joined Morisons’ Edinburgh office.

The move ends Macrae’s 130-year history as an independent company, but more such tie-ups are expected in the over-crowded Scottish legal market over the coming year as pressure continues to bear down on fees while big deals remain few and far between.
