McGills snaps up rivals on the buses

A WEST coast bus operator has bought two of its rivals for an undisclosed sum.

Inverclyde-based McGill's Bus Service will take over the routes operated by Fairway Coaches and Travel Direct, both based in Renfrewshire, in February.

The acquisition will expand McGill's network into Paisley's Glenburn and Foxbar areas.

All 17 staff from the two companies have been offered jobs at McGill's but no vehicles are involved in the deal.
