McDonald’s with a side order of jobs

FAST food chain McDonald’s yesterday unveiled plans to create a further 55 jobs in Scotland on top of 70 posts already added as part of its expansion plans.

The company has just completed a £6.8 million refit of 25 of its sites north of the Border, with all of its UK outlets due to be refurbished before the end of next year. Some 90 per cent will be completed this year.

McDonald’s, which has about 6,500 staff in Scotland, has committed itself to creating 3,000 posts throughout the UK this year, in addition to the 5,000 staff it added last year.
