Mathew Greenburgh to leave the City

MATTHEW Greenburgh, reportedly paid £11 million for advising Sir Fred Goodwin on the Royal Bank of Scotland's takeover of ABN Amro, is leaving the City.

He is retiring from Bank of America Merrill Lynch to pursue other interests.

Greenburgh was adviser to Goodwin when RBS acquired NatWest and to Standard Life when it floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2006.

He later advised Lloyds on its acquisition of HBOS
