Mackay warns of growth downgrade

TONY Mackay, the Inverness-based economist, yesterday warned that he might have to downgrade his Scottish economic growth forecast from 1.6 per cent in the wake of forthcoming UK and Scottish financial statistics.

In his monthly economic report, Mackay estimated that Scotland's GDP was 1.3 per cent higher in real terms than the May 2010 figure.
