Lufthansa numbers hit new heights

German airline Lufthansa reported a record year in 2010, carrying 133,295 passengers to and from Scotland - up 0.6 per cent on the figures for 2009.

Marianne Sammann, the general manager UK and Ireland, said: "Our passenger growth out of Scotland is particularly encouraging at a time when many airports are reporting a drop in overall passenger numbers for the year as a result of the challenges the industry faced during 2010."

Group passenger numbers were up 5.9 per cent.
