Lookout Call mulls Scottish base for safety system

A technology company that specialises in safety systems for 'lone workers' is considering establishing a base in Scotland.

Lookout Call said that, amid mounting concerns over budget cuts across the public and charity sectors, it is well placed to offer “significant savings” to employees whose staff face the highest rates of workplace violence.

The company provides automated lone worker safety and emergency response services via mobile phones, without the need for expensive purpose-built devices. Its existing clients north of the Border include the Addaction and Streetwork charities and Dumfries & Galloway Housing Partnership.

John Wood, sales director of Lookout Call parent group C3, said: “We know that many of our clients and potential customers in the public and charity sectors face another tough year as budgets are put under even more pressure.

“Everyone is doing their best to squeeze the most out of every penny they spend but we are confident that Lookout Call can deliver the savings they need in the current climate.”

The system is already used by 18,000 lone workers across the UK, and Wood said that Scotland was “very important” to the company’s growth plans.
