Livingston mall The Centre is celebrating after receiving its first five-star quality assurance accreditation from VisitScotland.

The shopping centre, which boasts more than 150 stores and 20-plus eateries, secured the highest accolade awarded by the tourism agency, which rewards attractions for customer service and creating a positive visitor experience for tourist and locals.

The Centre’s offering includes Debenhams, M&S, New Look, Primark, Nando’s, Wagamama and Ask Italian.

VisitScotland chief executive Malcolm Roughead visited The Centre to present the prestigious five-star award.

He said: “The scheme is about more than just the ‘stars’ on the door – it’s about the entire visitor experience, about investing in your business, driving-up quality and creating jobs.”

The shopping centre last month hosted a recruitment event as it looks to fill 150 full and part-time, temporary and seasonal jobs.
