Livingston firm Empteezy aims to create 40 jobs producing disposable face-masks

Livingston-headquartered manufacturing group Empteezy has secured a £1 million funding package to help support the business as it starts to produce disposable face-masks.

The firm hopes that the new production line will create up to 40 jobs in the West Lothian new town over the next few months.

Founded in 1986, the company has grown its operations significantly and now has sites in France, Spain, Belgium, Italy and Germany.

Founder and managing director Bruce Wishart said: “It has undoubtedly been a very challenging period for the manufacturing sector, but we feel fortunate that we have been able to continue business growth and expand our market offering in response to the global demand for PPE kit.”

David McIntosh, relationship director at Royal Bank of Scotland, which has provided the CBILS funding package, said: “It has been rewarding to support Empteezy as it diversifies its business and helps provide vital equipment for the public.”
