Life sciences firms merge

AN EDINBURGH-based life sciences company whose technology improves laboratory efficiency has merged with a North-east peer and secured fresh funding.

ImmunoSolv, a University of Edinburgh spin-out company based at the institution's BioQuarter, said it was poised for "significant growth" following the deal with Aberdeen-based Grampian BioConsultants. Financial details were not disclosed.

The combined group, ImmunoSolv, has had a cash injection from existing investor Grampian BioPartners, and matched funding from Scottish Enterprise's Co-Investment Fund.

Ruth Murray, chief executive and co-founder of ImmunoSolv, said: "The merger provides the opportunity to drive high-value product development."
