Legal firm Gilson Gray expands in Dundee less than a year after city launch

Less than a year after opening its Tayside branch, the firm has recruited a senior paralegal and two solicitors in response to “burgeoning demand” in the area.
The South Tay Street operation, which is headed up by Dundonian legal stalwart Lindsay Darroch, has welcomed solicitors Kasia Thomson and Karin Bousie, in addition to senior paralegal Nyona Nicol to the expanding team.

Hide AdDarroch, partner and head of the Dundee office, who has 28 years’ experience of working in the city’s legal sector, said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to join Gilson Gray’s Dundee office. We have not even been operating in the city for a year, yet we have already seen phenomenal growth as we fully establish a name for ourselves here.
“Our three latest recruits are all of a very high calibre and really exemplify Gilson Gray’s ethos with their proactive, hungry and ambitious approaches to their career.
“All of the new hires are incredibly talented and adept in each of their specialisms and will be great additions to the office as we continue, full steam ahead with our bold growth strategy in 2021 and beyond.”
The firm said its new operation had “hit the ground running”, despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. It has adapted its working practices, including equipping staff with the latest technology, enabling them to safely work from home.
