Law firm Aberdein Considine hungry for growth

LAW firm Aberdein Considine retains “an appetite for growth”, its chief executive said today, as it completed a £1 million expansion across two cities.

The Aberdeen-based practice, founded in 1981 by Harvey Aberdein and Iain Considine, has opened a “major legal hub” in the centre of Glasgow to house a growing corporate and commercial division.

Commercial property specialist Paul Jennings, who joined the firm as a partner earlier this year, will lead the new office – Aberdein’s second in the city.

Meanwhile, the firm has completed the extension and refurbishment of its headquarters in Aberdeen, which is now spread across five buildings on Bon-Accord Crescent. The move clears the way for the sale of two smaller offices in the Granite City.

Managing partner Jacqueline Law, who took up the top post in October, has recently overseen the firm’s expansion into Stirling following its takeover of Muirhead Buchanan.

She said the latest moves were unlikely to be the last and that the firm’s management still has an “appetite for growth”.

She added: “Last month we were confirmed as the eight largest firm in Scotland, which is extremely satisfying given the amount of work which has gone into recent office openings.”
