Kendall wins third term as president of the NFU

PETER Kendall has been given the mandate for a third term at the helm of England's National Farmer's Union.

The president came through with more than 75 per cent of the vote at the annual meeting held in Birmingham. His deputy, Meurig Raymond, was also re-elected for a third term, while dairy board chairman Gwyn Jones was elected to fill the vacant vice-president post. Kendall said: "I am pleased to be working with Meurig for another term and I would also like to welcome Gwyn to the team.

"We have lots of work ahead, not least the reform of common agricultural policy and dealing with bovine TB."
