Jimmy Choo sales talk on the cards

Jimmy Choo, the luxury shoemaker favoured by the stars, could be up for grabs.

It is understood that TowerBrook Capital Partners, the private equity house which bought a large stake in the shoe firm in 2007, has been carrying out a "strategic evaluation" of the business. One of the options is likely to be a sale.

Jimmy Choo, which is run by Tamara Mellon, has 115 outlets globally and is shifting into bags, men's shoes, perfume and clothing. Luxury goods have held up well during the global downturn, with LVMH last week posting bumper results.
