James Bond studio signs Chinese joint venture

FILM studio Pinewood Shepperton has launched a joint venture with Chinese media baron Bruno Wu to expand its production work in the Far East.

Under the deal with media group Seven Stars, Pinewood – which is home to the James Bond franchise – will produce films, run courses, develop financing for Chinese titles and create film-themed entertainment venues.

Prime Minister David Cameron welcomed the deal. He said: “Pinewood is leading the way, taking advantage of China’s thriving entertainment and media sector and building on Britain and China’s growing trade relationship.”
