Investment veteran and ex-Standard Life Aberdeen boss Martin Gilbert picks up directorship

Martin Gilbert, the investment veteran who co-founded Aberdeen Asset Management in 1983, has joined the board of wealth firm Saranac Partners as a non-executive director.

The London-based firm said Gilbert had been a long-standing supporter of the business since it was founded in 2015 and “understands our partnership approach with clients”.

He is currently chairman of digital bank Revolut and senior independent non-executive director at Glencore, as well as chairman of Toscafund. In June, Gilbert was named as the chairman of the Oil & Gas Technology Centre (OGTC).
