McLean, who is currently financial controller of the Aim-quoted company’s main trading subsidiary, Superglass Insulation, will join its board and succeed incumbent Chris Lea at the start of next month.

Superglass said in March that Lea was departing to become chief financial officer at Edinburgh-based video security specialist IndigoVision. He will be moving into his new post over the coming weeks but will remain on the Superglass executive board until the end of June.

McLean is a chartered accountant who trained with Ernst & Young in Glasgow. She joined Superglass in early 2014 from outsourcing group Serco, where she had been financial controller of its health business unit for two years. Prior to that, she spent eight years at Sun Microsystems.

Superglass chief executive Ken Munro said: “Having run an extensive external and internal recruitment process over the last two months, and having met with a range of high quality candidates, it became clear that Theresa’s experience and close involvement in the turnaround of the business over the last year made her the ideal choice for this critical role.

“I look forward to working with her to consolidate the considerable progress we have made recently and I am sure that she will bring drive and focus to the next phase of the company’s development.”
