Innis & Gunn wants Trump and Clinton to sip truth

Edinburgh-based brewer Innis & Gunn is sending a limited edition beer called Smoke & Mirrors across the Atlantic to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton to remind them of the importance of 'truthful campaigning'.

The Republican and Democrat candidates will each receive three bottles, said the brewer, with three natural ingredients that “aid the truth-enhancing process”.

These are liquorice root “to improve cognitive functions”, mullein “a natural relaxant that encourages open and honest behaviour” and vine essence “to inspire of lead people without force”.

Dougal Sharp, founder and master brewer at Innis & Gunn, said: “Scotland is a straight-talking nation and we’re looking forward to bringing a little part of our Scottish candidness over to the States, along with our most innovative brew to date, Smoke & Mirrors.”

The brew also includes Innis & Gunn Original, says Sharp, to help open up “a more honest world”.
