ARLENE STUART, the presenter of Forth 2 afternoon show and the Forth 2 Phone-In.

WHEN AND WHERE WERE YOU BORN?

In Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on 29 September 1967.

WHERE WERE YOU EDUCATED?

Cloverfield Primary in Bucksburn: a wonderful school from which I have so many great memories. That was followed by five fun years at Bankhead Academy.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB IN THE MEDIA?

Working at Grampian Television in Aberdeen as part-time receptionist and part-time clerk in the admin department. I went for every job that came up and eventually, once I had worn them down, they gave me a job as a continuity announcer.

WHAT WERE YOUR IMPORTANT CAREER MOVES?

Listening to Mr Vincent, my guidance teacher at school, who recognised something in me I couldn't see. He advised me to seek employment in the media. It's perhaps because I was always doing stuff to get attention at school.

WHO HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR CAREER?

Mr Vincent and my husband, Kenny, who is incredibly supportive and knows me better than I know myself.

WHAT ARE YOUR OUTSIDE INTERESTS?

Music, theatre, and spending as much time as possible with my family and friends.

HOW MUCH WOULD YOU SPEND ON A BOTTLE OF WINE?

Up to 15 for a special occasion.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF YOUR LIFE SO FAR?

Losing a family member 11 years ago.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE BEST EXPERIENCE OF YOUR LIFE SO FAR?

Having children.

IF YOU COULD BE IN SOMEONE ELSE'S SHOES, WHOSE WOULD THEY BE AND WHY?

My husband's: I would love to see what it would be like from his side of the bed.

WHAT ARE YOUR AMBITIONS?

To live life to the full, be healthy, and enjoy my children growing up and to see them succeed in life.

WHAT IS YOUR AMBITION FOR SCOTLAND?

I would like better education and less crime, and for everyone to be proud of our country, to give us a sense of community.
