Hornby to announce £1bn Boots' profits

ANDY Hornby, who was forced to resign from HBOS following its near-collapse, is to return to the City stage today when he unveils £1 billion-plus profits at Alliance Boots.

He attracted public wrath when he was appointed to the 1 million-a-year top job at Boots last summer. Debts at the firm are likely to have reduced by 500m.
