A luxury hotel on the outskirts of Glasgow is set to create 50 jobs following a £15 million investment and expansion.

Following the overhaul, Crossbasket Castle will launch its new offering this August, with an additional 40-bedroom hotel, two five-bedroom eco-friendly lodges, a luxury spa and new “destination” restaurant opening to the public. The recruitment drive has been launched to fill up jobs across the business, including reception, waiting, bar and kitchen staff.

Candidates will have the opportunity to apply for roles at Trocadero’s restaurant, which promises to “transport guests to the dawn of a new golden era” with daily entertainment and a menu overseen by acclaimed Michelin star chef, Michel Roux Jr.

Situated in High Blantyre, Crossbasket Castle opened its doors in May 2016, having been restored from the brink of ruin into one of Scotland’s most luxurious hotel and events venues by owners Steve and Alison Timoney. The building’s most celebrated owner is the 19th century Scottish chemist and inventor of waterproof fabric Charles Macintosh.

Graeme Green, managing director at Crossbasket Castle, said: “There’s a huge amount of excitement building around the launch of our new offering, and now we’re looking for a world-class team of staff to help bring the vision for this iconic venue to life. We all know the challenges that the hospitality industry has faced over the past few years. That’s why we’re thrilled to be bringing new job opportunities to the sector. There will be training opportunities for people of all skill levels.”
