Highland Show launch for biomass generators

SCOTT REID

ElectraTherm – a key player in waste heat to power generation – already has two installations in the UK, but the tie-up with Uphall-based Scot Heat & Power marks its first Scottish presence.

The US firm’s electricity generator can be used with standard biomass hot water boilers and its proprietary technologies promise major efficiencies. In recent months, ElectraTherm has announced new installations in Germany, Italy, Japan and Romania.

Scot Heat & Power’s managing director, Malcolm Snowie, said the firm, which will be taking part in the Royal Highland Show for the fifth time, would be unveiling “some of the most innovative technological developments in our field”.

In 2014, the group acquired Buccleuch BioEnergy.
