Healthcare firm Iqarus strikes takeover deal
Aberdeen-based Iqarus, which provides occupational health and medical support solutions to customers including offshore operators, has bought Exmed as it continues its global expansion.
Herefordshire-based Exmed’s customers include government and humanitarian agencies as well as energy firms and media organisations including the BBC and Discovery Channel. It supports medical missions and operations in locations including Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and Siberia.

Hide AdFounding directors of Exmed, Ged Healy and Dai Jones, will join Iqarus along with their head office team of 20 and pool of medical contractors.
Tim Mitchell, chief executive of Iqarus, said the acquisition would propel it into frontline medical care in some of the world’s most remote and difficult operating environments.
He added: “The acquisition of Exmed is a major catalyst for our international expansion. The team are amongst the most highly regarded providers of healthcare in challenging locations.”
No value was disclosed for the deal.
