Hawick Knitwear ups production

Hawick Knitwear has increased production to 9,500 sweaters a week to cope with demand for its own-label range of jumpers, which was launched in January.

The company, which is owned by Birmingham-based Waterlink Investments, employs more than 230 staff in the Borders and recently said that turnover had risen to 8m in the year to 31 March, up from 6.1m in the previous 12 months.
