Havelock finance chief quits after nine years

Shopfitter Havelock Europa today said finance director Grant Findlay has resigned with immediate effect after nine years with the Fife-based group.

No reason was given for the departure of Findlay, who will be replaced on 23 June by Ciaran Kennedy, previously operations director for construction group Kier’s utilities business in Scotland.

Havelock chief executive Eric Prescott said: “The board would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Grant for his significant contribution over the last nine years and we wish him the very best for the future.

“Ciaran brings with him 20 years of financial and operational experience working for publicly quoted companies, together with a record of strong leadership and strategic growth skills.”

Last month Havelock said it was poised to starting paying dividends for the first time in six years after an upturn in work for clients in the banking sector helped it return to the black.

The firm posted a pre-tax profit from continuing operations of £600,000 for 2013, a turnaround from the previous year’s £500,000 loss and its first underlying profit since 2008.
