The firm, which has attracted celebrity fans including Lily Allen, Amy McDonald and Emma Watson, has chosen Kickstarter for its latest funding campaign and Strathberry co-founder Guy Hundleby said the platform is raising awareness of the brand in the US, which
accounts for about 60 per cent of pledges received.

Some of the new money raised will go towards building relationships with high-end retailers across North America.

“We are achieving a lot of sales in the US and Canada right now,” Hundleby said of the company’s online trade, now worth about £1,000 a day. “There is huge potential to gain more traction with that.”

Launched in 2013, Strathberry is majority owned by its founders and management. About 25 per cent is in the hands of external investors.
