Greggs sees profits rise

GREGGS is this week expected to reveal that annual profits rose to £46.5 million in 2009 against £45.2m in 2008 after the bakery chain put in a resilient performance against recessionary pressures.

The City is expected to press chief executive Ken McMeikan for further information on how successful recent store launches have been after Greggs unveiled expansion plans, which will see it open a further 600 outlets over the next decade.
