Grant Thornton Edinburgh head joins online ad firm

Sandra Rodger, the practice leader at accounting firm Grant Thornton’s Edinburgh office, is to join internet advertising firm Digital Globe Services (DGS) as chief financial officer in December.

Rodger, who was a director at PwC before joining Grant Thornton last year, has been involved in a number of flotations, including that of DGS itself, which floated on the Alternative Investment Market in February.

She fills a role made vacant at the start of this month when Bruce Casely, DGS’s Scots-born chief financial officer, stood down. Andrew Lear, who had been acting finance chief, will return to his position as chief strategy officer.

DGS chief executive Jeff Cox said: “Sandra’s extensive track record of financial transactions and PLC company experience will be invaluable in supporting DGS as we enter the next phase of growth, capitalising on strong momentum following the successful IPO.”
