Graham's full of beans with exclusive Starbucks deal
Under the contract, the Bridge of Allan firm will supply milk and whipping cream to all 68 Starbucks outlets north of the Border.
Managing director Robert Graham said: “Starbucks share our commitment to quality produce with local provenance and this new partnership is not only positive for our business, it also benefits the Scottish dairy sector generally. We value highly the relationships we have with our 98 farmers and this deal is beneficial for all involved.”
He added: “We had an excellent year in 2015 and we were delighted to be named Scotland’s favourite dairy brand as well as showing strong growth and developing our product range. Today’s announcement is just the start of a very exciting and interesting new year for Graham’s in 2016.”
In December, Graham’s said its pre-tax profit grew to £1.6 million in the year to March, up from £1.3m the previous year, while its dairy sales rose to £86.5m, compared with £85m in the prior year.
Rural affairs secretary Richard Lochhead welcomed the deal and urged others in the food and drink sector to “play their part” by supporting Scotland’s dairy industry.
“Our dairy farmers are facing an extremely challenging time – caused mainly by unfavourable global factors – and we must therefore all get behind the industry and source locally when and where we can,” he said.
“Initiatives such as this are to be applauded and I urge businesses to always consider the excellent Scottish offer when making purchasing decisions. Our food and drink sector is now worth more than £14 billion and I want more of this success to filter down to primary producers and the rest of the supply chain.”
