Goldman Sachs put under US subpoena

GOLDMAN Sachs has been issued with a subpoena by a US government commission investigating the financial crisis for failing to comply with a request for documents and interviews in a timely manner.

The documents and interviews were requested by the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, which has been looking into the events that led to the US government rescue of the banking industry.

A Goldman spokesman said the bank has been and will continue to be "committed to providing the FCIC with the information it has requested".
