Glass company toasts 7m sales

Sales of the Glencairn whisky glass, made by East Kilbride-based Glencairn Crystal, have broken through the seven million mark thanks to strong overseas demand.

The so-called "official glass of whisky" is expected to generate sales in excess of 1.5 million this year. Glencairn, whose other products include decanters and barware, is on target to complete a 250,000 expansion of its glass decoration facility.
