The centrally-located facility will offer luxury overnight rooms, enabling it to do a range of elective surgical procedures across orthopaedic, bariatric, cosmetic, ENT, gynaecology, urology and general surgery.

The firm said the high-end specifications of the building would be matched by a “top-tier focus on patient welfare and safety”, including an orthopaedic theatre that uses enhanced air circulation to ensure hygiene and the removal of pathogens. The company is also investing heavily in staff and eventually hopes to employ 70 people at the facility with a ratio of one nurse to every two patients.
Vivek Sivarajan, chief executive of Elanic Hospital Glasgow said: “As society becomes more focused on health and well-being, consumers are rightly expecting the hospitals and clinics they visit to meet their very high demands in terms of safety and comfort. Our emphasis has been to make the stay in hospital, whether outpatient, day-patient or overnight, the most pleasurable and stress-free it can be. Our experience shows that when we strive for excellence in all aspects of patient care, it's the patient’s outcome that benefits.”
“We have sought out the best, most inventive facilities for our new hospital in Glasgow and are delighted with the outcome - theatres where we can provide state-of-the-art procedures and public and private rooms that enable our patients to meet with our consultants and recuperate in a relaxing and pleasant environment.

Professor Jason Leitch of Elanic Hospital Glasgow board, added: “It’s been a great pleasure to be involved with the Elanic board over the last few months and help them with advice around patient safety and clinical governance. This has culminated in all necessary approvals being granted to open the new Elanic Hospital and to begin offering a broad range of clinical care. It is testament to the work of the staff and leadership that the Elanic Hospital is now ready to provide safe, person-centred, and high-quality care to the people of Glasgow and beyond.”
