G&J Greenall bought for £7.5m

THE maker of Greenall's gin has been acquired in a £7.5 million deal involving the management team that saved it from collapse three years ago.

G&J Greenall, which includes the second-most popular gin brand in the UK and will next month celebrate its 250th birthday, was sold by hotel group De Vere, which was formed from the Greenalls Group in the 1990s. Greenalls makes more than 50 per cent of all the supermarket own-label gin and vodka in the UK.
