Gemini Corrosion eyes expansion after Japanese deal
Montrose engineering firm Gemini Corrosion is eyeing expansion opportunities after completing a £250,000 contract ahead of schedule for Japanese company Sumitomo.
The contract for coating and sealing 217 pipe joints was part of the Edradour gas field project and has lead to Gemini carry out more work the development, west of Shetland
Gemini managing director Steven McGilvray said: “It was the first job completed at our upgraded facilities here at Montrose and has led to a spin-off contract for the field joints. For the first time, work is also able to come in from Japan direct to the quayside at Montrose.
“Our challenge now is to build on that success and, hopefully, bring in more people to work on future contracts.”
Gemini employs about 30 people at its Montrose base.
