Future's bright for magazine group

SPECIAL interest publisher Future yesterday said earnings would be in line with expectations despite "tough conditions" at the news-stands.

The group, which produces magazines on subjects from cycling to knitting, said underlying revenues were down 7 per cent in the three months to 31 December, although the strong dollar helped pushed this to a 1 per cent rise.

Future said its gaming portfolio had suffered due to "accelerated decline in PC gaming".
