Glenskirlie House and Castle, in the Forth Valley, accessed the East of Scotland Investment Fund (ESIF) through Falkirk Council to support an increase in business for 2015.

The expected growth comes after marketing help it received from Business Gateway Falkirk led to a surge in bookings for weddings.

The business, which employs 80, will take its headcount to 100 to help meet demand. Most of the funding will go towards refurbishments and repair at the site, which includes two wedding and events venues and two restaurants.

Owner and general manager Colin Macaloney said a website built with the marketing funding led to a 20 per cent jump in weddings bookings.

“The ESIF funding will ensure we can take on the increase in business and continue to function at the same level of high quality.”
