Public relations firm Frasermedia is expanding into the Highlands with a five-figure deal to swallow rival McAllister Media.

It is the Aberdeen-based firm’s first acquisition since it was launched in 2007 by former broadcast journalist and television newsreader Pauline Cook.

The deal sees ex-Press & Journal Highland business editor Bill McAllister sell his eponymous business and join Frasermedia as PR account director, taking its headcount to seven.

Inverness-based McAllister will continue to work in the north but his client list – which includes builder Tulloch Homes – moves over to Frasermedia.

Cook said: “This acquisition gives us a superb platform to launch into the Highlands and grow our contacts in the north. We have already identified a number of Bill’s clients looking to grow their presence in Aberdeen and the North-east while a number of Frasermedia’s existing clients are operating in the north, so there is a great synergy and this partnership will offer fantastic opportunities for all of our clients.”
