Former Colliers International director Nick McCaffery sets up 'niche practice'

Former Colliers International director Nick McCaffery is going it alone after 25 years in the corporate world.

He has set up "niche practice" McCaffery & Co in his native Glasgow. The 51-year-old has been a director with a number of commercial property consultants in Scotland for the past 25 years, including the former Edward Erdman, Campbell & Co and most recently Colliers.

He said: "This is something I had wanted to do for quite a while and the opportunity finally presented itself."

He plans to specialise in retail rent reviews, lease renewals, lease regearing and expert witness services.

Edinburgh-based online design and marketing agency Crush Digital has named Graham Wallace as its new managing director.

Wallace has worked with the Edinburgh Filmhouse and Spider Systems and is joining the company with ambitions to grow the business throughout Europe.

Crush Digital was established ten years ago, and has increased turnover from 90,000 to 340,000 in the past three years.

Company founder Rafael Cueto said Wallace's appointment was linked to that growth. "With a rapidly expanding team and a growing number of services on offer, the time is right for Graham to come on board," he said. "His skills as a chartered accountant and his experience in various countries across Europe will be an invaluable asset to our team."

Human resources firm Empire has brought in a health and safety manager to help client companies keep up to date with the law.

Gill Hutchinson joins Aberdeen-based Empire with more than ten years' experience in health and safety. She will lead and develop the H&S division of the business.

Ambicare Health, the Scottish medical technology company, has appointed Dr Neil MacGilp as a non-executive director.

MacGilp has decades of medical technology experience, including more than 30 years with Proctor & Gamble and SAB throughout Europe and the US.

Ambicare chairman David Lawrence said the St Andrews-based firm would benefit from MacGilp's network of contacts as well as his technical expertise.
