Foodie hungry for more after success

A SURGE in orders of smoked salmon and cheeses has led to a doubling of luxury hamper sales at the Foodie Company.

The Edinburgh-based business, run by Peter McLean, has also announced expansion plans to launch a wholesale business and contract packing service.

Foodies at Holyrood, the firm's caf offshoot business, reported a 25 per cent increase in turnover, leading to plans to open a second outlet in the capital in late 2010.

McLean said: "Since launching in 2007 the Foodie Company has gone from strength to strength and due to strong sales year-on-year we are now in the position to expand our packaging premises to launch a wholesale side of Foodies."
