Float like a butterfly...: Football giant looking east for cash

Manchester United is believed to be eyeing a partial flotation in Singapore by the end of the year to raise up to $1 billion (£610 million) and pay off its debts. There is speculation that the Premier League side’s owners, the American Glazer family, could sell 25 or 30 per cent of the club, which they took private in a 2005 takeover.

It was previously rumoured they were planning to sell shares in Hong Kong but reports suggest they have now switched their attention to Singapore.
