Fledgling training firm projects energetic turnover

An ENERGY industry training provider founded only last year is projecting annual turnover of £7 million as it expands its range of survival courses.

Survivex was founded by industry veteran George Green after more than 20 years in the oil and gas industry.

The fledgling firm already offers more than 30 industry-accredited courses at its facility in Dyce, Aberdeen, and had a turnover of £3.8m in its first full year of operation.

The company’s finance director, Andrew Green, said today: “The first 12 months have been a whirlwind. We have expanded our team to 60 staff, ten more than originally anticipated, and now welcome 3,000 delegates per month through our doors.”

Green, who joined the firm from accountancy giant Deloitte, added: “We predict a successful second year with turnover of more than £7m and further courses to be added to our portfolio. This is just the beginning for Survivex.”

The north-east firm has also launched a “Survivex for Schools” initiative to try to encourage youngsters to pursue a career in the oil and gas sector.

Green added: “There is a recognised skills gap within the industry and it is vital we attract new talent.”
