Five get top jobs as Barclays Wealth develops Scottish arm

BARCLAYS Wealth is pressing ahead with plans to double the size of its Scottish business by making five senior appointments.

Ryan McDonald, formerly head of wealth management in Scotland for Lloyds Banking Group, is joining the firm's Glasgow office as financial planning regional director.

Jonathan King, from Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management, and Simon Lewis, from Speirs & Jeffrey, are joining Barclays as private bankers in Glasgow.

Richard Peacock, who joined the firm in 2008 from Morgan Stanley, has been promoted to private bank executive in the Glasgow office, while Martyn Padden has been given the same promotion in the Aberdeen office. Mark Little, managing director of Barclays Wealth Scotland, said: "Whether it's bringing in key industry players like Jonathan, Simon and Ryan or developing employees as we have with Martyn and Richard, the calibre of our staff is testament to our increasingly significant position in the marketplace."
