First Milk co-op appoints new vice-chairman

AYRSHIRE farmer Tom Campbell has been appointed vice chairman of First Milk with immediate effect. He was first elected to the farmer-owned co-operative in 2004 and runs a 230-acre farm in West Kilbride.

First Milk chairman Bill Mustoe, who stepped into the top seat last year, welcomed the appointment saying there were lots of people who were able to point out issues, but a smaller number who were recommending clear business solutions.

"After working alongside him over the last seven months, I can confirm Tom has a well-structured view on the steps we need to take to reshape the business."
