Firms ‘seeking more academic help’

BUSINESSES in Scotland are increasingly turning to universities for help during the economic downturn, according to figures from the body charged with forging links between academics and entrepreneurs.

Interface, which is backed by the Scottish Funding Council, said it had seen a 47 per cent increase in collaborations between business and Scottish universities and research institutes during 2010-11.
