Firms receive £12m state aid

SCOTTISH Enterprise paid just over £12 million in regional selective assistance in the last quarter to support a number of growth firms backed by £61m in capital investment from those receiving the aid. The funding created or protected 1,274 jobs.

Recipients included Adrok (Edinburgh), Formedix (Glasgow), Omega Diagnostics Group (Alva) and Sigma-Aldrich
(Irvine). Sectors that benefited ranged from business and legal process outsourcing services to the aerospace and marine engineering industries.

“Scotland has always been known as a nation of innovators,” said David Smith, director of innovation and enterprise services at Scottish Enterprise.

“RSA funding continues to be instrumental in bringing global companies to Scotland and Scottish companies to the rest of the world.”
